LP to CD testimony from Yorkshire

We can unreservedly recommend Gary to anyone requiring old LPs to be converted to CD. We own an LP which was created from an audio tape of our wedding service. We thought that it would be nice to have a CD to play at our Golden Wedding celebrations next year. Clearly, neither the original tape, nor the LP created from it were of high quality as the technology was from 50 years ago. However, Gary has produced a brilliant copy, which he has even separated into sections so that we can select the appropriate parts to play, next year. Gary was really helpful with advice on packaging and he kept checking to confirm all our requirements. Then, we received the CDs and LP almost by return of post. A fantastic and reasonably priced service.

Lp to CD testimonial by J&P S from Yorkshire

Regap5 Turntable used by our LP to CD service in Yorkshire

We don’t use those plug in USB turntables that are flooding the market but use high end equipment to get the best results we can from your records. We use Rega Planar turntables with Cedar Audio hardware to enhance the results of the recordings by reducing unwanted pops & clicks on vinyl to CD, along with equipment from Sony, Akai, Sanyo and periphals from goldring, Ortofon and Creative Labs, Denon & JVC, over £20,000 of equipment in total which shows we are passionate about what we do!

There are no shortcuts everything analogue being transferred to digital has to be first recorded in real-time, edited in most cases to ensure the sound file is of a good standard, Generally you will get approx 80 minutes of audio onto a CD, more if you have the CD in an MP3 format, you will need a CD player that will manage your MP3 disc, a PC or DVD player will usually do this but not always your Hi Fi CD player.

We clean all records, even brand new vinyl records benefit from a deep clean before use. The main reason being that release agents are used when pressing vinyl records in production to allow the vinyl to literally ‘unstick’ from the metal press stamps, often a residue of a wax like substance is found in the grooves of the new record, deep cleaning will remove this.

Records that have been played build up dust and debris from the air held by static over the surface, incorrect storage and handling also contribute to a build up of dirt deep in the grooves of a disc so deep cleaning will most certainly assist in producing a better recording from your records and will further extend the life of your stylus.

Warwickshire testimony of our audio cassette to CD service

I had an audio cassette tape of my dearly loved and sadly missed partner. It was a recording of a Christmas Broadcast for a hospital radio service that he compiled and presented in 1998. Gary edited flaws in the original tape recording and separated a continuous recording into non gap tracks to make the resulting CD more muser friendly for track skipping I am absolutely delighted with the finished CD and Gary has provided multiple copies for me to send to family and friends. I know it will mean a lot to them too. I thought the price Gary asked for this thorough and the painstaking work was more than reasonable. The original audio tape and the CDs were posted back to me securely packaged and by Royal Mail Special Delivery. A really outstanding service. Thank you.

Northamptonshire testimony of our open reel to CD transfer service

Gary Ankin has taken a very tatty, degraded 1960s audio tape on a reel of mine, and transferred it to a CD which involved much delicate handling such as carefully lubricating the ancient tape as it travelled over the tape heads and rollers to avoid it failing that he has done brilliantly. I cannot speak highly enough of his professionalism in doing this and would undoubtedly ask him to carry out similar work for me.

Norfolk testimony of our professional transfer of a 78 record to CD

I am delighted with the work Gary has done for me, transferring music from an old 78 to a CD. The record was made over sixty years ago of my college choir and me singing for a BBC programme. Hearing it once more on my laptop is like magic. It has brought back happy memories and I am thrilled to bits! I would recommend Gary to anyone who needs similar to be done. He was kind and helpful throughout, and worked very quickly and efficiently. Thanks Gary!

Bristol testimony of our tape cassette to CD transfer service

Found Gary’s MK VINYL 2 CD on Google and decided to ask him to do what he could to improve the sound on a home made cassette tape of friends made in the mid-seventies. Did not expect too much as the recordings were made in bedrooms and bathrooms over forty years ago on a small Phillips cassette recorder and had become virtually unlistenable due to the tape hiss. However, the end result is absolutely outstanding and I am once again able to listen clearly to old friends trying to be the new Simon & Garfunkel! (It never happened). Gary clearly runs a professional business and kept in touch during the proceedings, keeping me advised and up to date. I have no hesitation in recommending him for any similar work you may be contemplating. His charges are more than fair and you will not be disappointed. Go on, treat yourself!

Tape to CD testimony of our transfer service

I can thoroughly recommend MK Vinyl 2 CD, from beginning to end the service that they offered was brilliant. They provided me with information throughout the process and completed the work including delivery back to me in less than a week. The tape that we had transferred was around 45years old and had spent a lot of its life in a garage so we knew it might not be possible to transfer it successfully but we couldn’t be happier with the results. Many thanks

West Midlans testimony on our professional vinyl to CD transfer service

It is impossible to imagine a better service than that provided to me by MkVinyl2CD. I sent my vinyl disc to Gary on a Monday afternoon and I got it back along with the CD containing the digital version on the Wednesday morning. The quality of the CD version was excellent and the price, including First Class Signed-For postage, represented great value, being less than half the cost charged by a local company I had used before. Gary was helpful throughout and needless to say I will not hesitate to do business again. Highly recommended
