Equipment we use......
Much of our work relies on the use of audio equipment used in the 70s and 80s where valves were used in the components and the equipment needed a sturdy back to lift and move them around and the units we stood them on needed to be equally as sturdy to say the least.
Open Reel Decks
Akai 4000D from the 70s this machine is used with spools up to 7 inches in diameter.
Revox B77 2 track machine probably the best of its kind when first built. With hub adapters fitted it will take spools up to 10 inches. A superb 2 track machine used in many studios
Turntables
.We have three turntables for use in recording LPs and Singles, a top range Marantz, a Bush with a 5% speed adjust and a JVC LA-11. The turntables have their own unique features and all are suitable for recording vinyl to high quality.
Vintage Turntable
Goldring Lenco GL75 a classic multi speed turntable made by the Swiss manufacturer. When used with 78rpm discs the cartridge has to be fitted with an appropriate stylus to play 78rpm discs, the styli being much broader tipped.
8 Track Cartridge Player
The 8 Track Cartridge player was a forerunner to the audio cassette tape. First used in-car by many, it was a very easy way to have music on the road.
Moth RCM Pro
A Professional Record Cleaning Machine.
We now are able to deep clean and vacuum your LPs, Singles and 78rpms to help enhance the sound quality for transfer to CD. The Moth holds the record, rotates to allow for easier cleaning and then using a high power vacuum sucks away the debris and dust. Different cleaning fluids are used for vinyl and shellac discs.
Graphic Equaliser
A very useful piece of equipment in giving you that extra edge in managing the actual recording. Allowing you to boost audio levels when needed or to decrease them if you need to.
